It Pays To Be Pushy

Crazy Eight - London Shuffle’s brand-new table shuffleboard dedicated bar – is now conveniently tucked away in the basement of The London Shuffle Club.  It may be smaller than its sister floor-shuffleboard venue, but it’s got a big personality.  Think speakeasy cocktail lounge, with two different types of shuffleboard tables to master - Classic and Snapback.

Play with one hand and get stuck into our knock out cocktails, craft beers and delicious pizzas with the other. Or why not make a night of it and hire out the whole space?

The Game

Dating back to the 15th century, table shuffleboard in its earliest form involved players sliding a groat (a coin) down a long table. A little down the line this became a silver penny - hence the term shove ha’penny – but it became so addictive, Henry VIII decided to ban it for being too distracting. Thankfully that was then - and this is now!

The game involves two teams of players sliding weighted pucks along a table, with the aim being to land them in the scoring zone at the other end. Players can score a 1-4 with every shot or gain a 5 for the ultimate ‘hangar’ shot. Sounds easier than it is! But it’s super addictive and gets the teams really fired up.

We have two types of shuffleboard table – the 18ft Classic table which is the more traditional, long, straight table with the scoring zone at the other end. Or the Snapback – a new style table - which is squarer meaning you bounce the puck off the back bar, back towards you into the scoring zone on the bottom right. Both are equally fun to play, which is why we suggest you try both!

Groups

Our Classic and Snapback tables can be played by two to eight shufflers, with groups of 4-6 being the ideal. It’s just £20 for an hour on a table – so no per person fee - or even better if you book off-peak tables, at £10.

"The ‘sport’ of table shuffleboard is deeply social, horribly addictive and highly competitive."

PLANNING A GROUP THING?

If you’ve got a social in the pipeline, we’ve got lots of options for groups of 15-60 people.

You can take a full or half venue hire. And smaller groups can be taken care of with semi private table hire and a minimum spend plan.

Plus, you can really shake things up, with a cocktail masterclass alongside your shuffling.

Time to get a social in the pipeline, right?
